Get Involved
Some people get involved because doing so supports their Jewish identity; others do so because it helps them feel a part of the Jewish community; some feel a responsibility to get involved, or do so to honor their parents, or get involved because it brings them joy, or because it brings a feeling of being connected to something larger than themselves. Regardless of the reason for your involvement - it is the only thing keeping Judasim alive and well in Acadiana. There are plenty of opportunities to engage in mitzvot for our congregation. We invite you to pursue at least one of them, and by doing so, we hope you will feel more connected and that your Jewish experience will be enhanced.

- Host a Shabbat Oneg: Our time together after Shabbat services is truly special. Someone has to turn on the coffee and bring the sweets. A great way to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or life events of all kinds is to host a Shabbat Oneg.
- Host a Holiday: Making the holidays happen for Temple Shalom requires a little bit of effort on everyone’s part, but it is worth it. Have a favorite holiday? Sign up to make it special for all of us.
